How washing machines work?

Washer machines get clothing clean by plunging the clothes through the water and detergent mixture. It is the motion that really helps to loosen dirt. In top loading machines, the agitator twists back and forth pulling the clothes to the bottom and this process is repeated with the clothes at the top. In front loading machines, the clothes tumble and are plunged into the water repeatedly. After the water is pumped out, the inner drum uses centrifugal force to wring out the remaining water.

How dryers Work?

Wet clothes are placed into the tumber and heat settings are set on the console. Once you start the machine a motor begins to turn and the belt rotates the tumbler. At the same time, air is drawn into the dryer. The heating coil flares also during this time and warms the incoming air. The tumbling clothes heat up and the water within them turns to steam. The exhaust carries the steam out of the dryer and through a duct outside of your home.

Washing machine tips!

• Make sure the lid is closed properly
• Make sure the timer and all of the controls are set properly
• Make sure the botom inside the dishwasher is clean and free of debris
• Make sure both water faucets are turned on

Dryer tips!

• Make sure the dryer is not pushed back against the rear exhaust duct causing an air flow restiction.
• Make sure the clothes are coming out of the washer spun damp dry. If the washer is not spinning the clothes damp dry, the dryer will not dry the clothes in a normal amount of time
